Limonene is a monoterpene best known for its bright, citrus character, found abundantly in citrus peel oils and present in several other essential oils used in our formulas, including neroli. It appears in our Night Shift and Steadfast facial oils as a natural component of those blends.

Like other terpenes in our formulations, limonene has demonstrated antioxidant activity, helping to counter the effects of everyday environmental exposure on the skin. Its uplifting citrus aroma also carries an aromatherapeutic benefit, commonly associated with elevated mood and reduced feelings of stress.

As with linalool, limonene isn't an ingredient we add on its own — it occurs naturally within the whole essential oils already featured in our ingredient list. We call it out separately because it's recognized as a named fragrance constituent under international ingredient-transparency standards, the same reason you'll see it marked with an asterisk on our product pages.
